ManTech Principal Systems Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia

As Principal Systems Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing client operating environments and software, leveraging VMware Horizon Suite, in a distributed IT environment.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Engineering, documenting, delivering and maintaining secure physical and virtual desktop builds in accordance with customer specifications and security guidelines
Extensive experience in application virtualization, software packaging, automation scripting and across-the-wire enterprise system and application deployments
Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to desktop support and deployments
Writing implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented
Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle to include developing Service Design Packages, Change Packages, SLAs, OLAs, test plans and Standard Operating Procedures
Providing IT Systems and Applications Engineering support for a large distributed IT infrastructure working within the Service Design division
Performing requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex software application environments and collaboration infrastructures.
Engineering solutions in accordance with customer requirements and providing technical guidance to less experienced systems engineers
Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems independently and in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel
Providing IT Systems Engineering support on a wide range of technologies, including: VMware VDI Infrastructure, Symantec Management Platform, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Client Web Browsers, Client Endpoint Security Suites, customer line-of-business applications, and others
Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design
Working on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment.
Requires Bachelor's degree and seven to nine years of related experience
Knowledge of current Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems, Desktop and Application virtualization, Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, Networking, SANs, and physical client endpoints
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level 3 (CISSP, CASP or equivalent) certification required
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert – MCSE (Windows 10 / Server 2012 products or later) desired
Enterprise Desktop and Application virtualization experience and certification in one or more of the following: VMware Horizon Suite (View / Mirage / AppVolumes / ThinApp), Microsoft (Hyper-V / App-V / RDS / RemoteApp / SCCM) desired
Capability to express project plans within Microsoft Project
Security Requirements: Top Secret required with SCI eligibility
Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) and seven to nine years of related experience.
