As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing critical systems and application infrastructure support to the Department of Defense. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team across multiple technical areas to include operations, engineering, security, and systems development. It offers great opportunities for technical growth.
Responsibilities Include:
• Designing, implementing, and documenting a vSphere 5 infrastructure in a distributed IT infrastructure
• Providing enterprise level disaster recovery solutions
• Provide design and operation support for enterprise class SAN deployments and backup infrastructures
• Writing implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented
• Participating in a Change Management processes
• Providing IT Systems and Applications Engineering support for a large distributed IT infrastructure
• Performing requirements analysis, design, and integration for complex software application environments and collaboration infrastructures.
• Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers.
• Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
• Providing IT Systems Engineering support on a wide range of technologies, including: Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Service Now, Altiris, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, InTrust, customer line-of-business applications, and others.
• Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design.
• Working on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment.
Position Requirements:
• Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
• Requires knowledge of virtualization, networking, SANs, Microsoft Windows systems, Cisco networking devices, and VLANs.
• Capability to express project plans within Microsoft Project
• Security+ or CISSP is desired.
• VMware or Microsoft certifications are also desired.
Security Requirements:U.S. citizenship is required along with an active Top Secret clearance. Active TS/SCI is strongly preferred.
