Job Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide systems administration for LAN/WAN equipment. Maintain personal computers, servers, Ethernet and Fiber CISCO switches, and other similar equipment with Windows Active Directory, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7, Windows XP and DOS based operating systems and any other system developed utilizing government hardware.
· Setup and configure user accounts as needed after coordination with government representatives. Be able to setup discretionary access controls consistent with SAF/AAZ policy and individual personnel accesses. Provide routine maintenance of user accounts, including adding, deleting or modifying accounts, and maintaining records of the accounts. Monitor usage of the LAN/WAN and provide usage summary data as required.
· Manage and record software configuration, and make recommendations concerning possible configuration changes. Data on LAN/WAN usage and user needs shall be used in assessing the software configuration.
· Trace and correct LAN/WAN hardware problems that do not require the service of the hardware vendor. Isolate and correct problems with the LAN/WAN software, coordinate and install new releases and upgrades from the LAN/WAN software vendor.
· Perform system administrator duties on the Windows NT/XP network platform, desktop machine support, server administration and maintenance. Provide consultation support to other Windows NT/XP LAN administrators and the government task manager. · Perform as the primary person to interface with the AF Secure Global Network Operations Support Center (NOSC) in resolution of WAN technical problems. Coordinate with higher level technicians to resolve local problems requiring higher technical level support.
· Act as local registration authority in the maintenance of the ENTRUST Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption system. Individual must have 3 years experience with ENTRUST.
· Conduct formal training sessions to acquaint government personnel with the concept of LAN/WAN operations to include, and be similar to, log in, security constraints, password usages and procedures, email usage and file transferring procedures.
· Assist individual LAN/WAN users or small groups on an informal basis to address specific areas of interest concerning LAN/WAN operations.
· Participate as needed in random, informal interchange meetings when deemed necessary by the Government to discuss plans, schedules, concerns, suggestions, and LAN/WAN operational/growth requirements.
· Assist in defining an architecture and recommend components/features for an improved, dedicated LAN/WAN to support upcoming test and demonstration activities. The architecture must also be suitable as a baseline for subsequent operational use. Upon approval of architecture recommendation, assist in acquiring, installing and maintaining appropriate hardware, software and communication components.
Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience.
Additional Qualifications • Minimum four years system administration with experience in: LAN/WAN, laptop and PC management, Windows NT/XP platform administration
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+
• Current TS/SCI Clearance and SSBI
• Must be able to milti-task
• Must be willing to work occasional flex hours
• Other duties as assigned
• Occasional Travel with ability to obtain a passport
