General Responsibilities: Manages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. May research, evaluate, test, recommends communicate and implement new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. CManages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends communicate and implement new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. Provides recommendations on information assurance engineering standards, implementation dependencies, and changing information assurance related technologies. Supervises lesser-experienced information security professionals. Prepares evaluation reports. Recommends remedial action.
Specific Responsibilities: Performs follow-up analysis of relevant events/incidents as tasked by the Security Health Officer. Determines the true scope and severity of events/incidents. Performs data fusion between various events to help understand the full operational impact of the event. Possesses working-level knowledge of routers; network protocols, firewalls, security devices, and various network topology structures. Possesses working-level knowledge and experience with HP Openview’s Network Traffic Flow Monitor; highly proficient with WIRESHARK, a free-and-open-source-software tool.
Required IT Training and Certifications: ArcSight Certified Security Analyst; successful completion of IBM Site Protector User Training; and IAT Level III certification per DoD 8570.1.

Qualifications Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years related experience.
