General Responsibilities: Provides analysis, technical support, and help line support across multiple platforms. Monitors UNIX based servers, IBM, and VAX systems. Diagnoses reported hardware, software, and network problems. Resolves or repairs as possible and contacts additional technical support as necessary. Provides procedural guidance, demonstrates, and provides direction for functions such as backups of UNIX, IBM, VAX, and PC based systems. Continues to improve technical expertise through the identification of new processes technical alternatives to resolve problems and/or general improvements.
Specific Responsibilities: Accountable to the First Line Service Specialist and Service Desk Lead to be the first point of contact, across the globe, for the IT “hands-on-the keyboard” user into the IT environment. Interacts effectively, courteously, and directly with the user in order to resolve technical issues, and answers queries and requests for service that originate by telephone, web-based portals, e-mail or other methods.
Required IT Training and Certifications: ITIL® v3 Foundations certification; and IAT Level II certification (per DoD Directive 8570.1)

Qualifications Requires High School diploma or equivalent, and three to four years of related experience.
