General Responsibilities: Provides expertise and direction in the development or modification of complex software programs to enhance an operating system. Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of hardware and software operating systems for the organization's products. Responsible for the instruction, assigning, and overseeing the performance of less experienced software systems engineers. Coordinates the activities of the software engineering department with other sections of the corporation's information systems operation. May train and supervise subordinate systems engineers.
Specific Responsibilities: Analyzes functional business requirements, processes, and design specifications for IT activities. Identifies, resolves, and enhances problems and/or inefficiencies within existing systems. Designs implementation of new systems. and participates in analysis, design and development/construction of next generation IT systems. Understands and balances customers’ IT needs with commercially available IT products realities to derive requirements and system specifications that are implementable by the architecture and engineering teams.
Desired Training and Certification: ITIL® v3 Foundations certification and HP Service Manager 7.11 end user training are highly desireable.

Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) and seven to nine years of related experience.
