Job Duties and Responsibilities 
Description of Position:
This position is for a system engineer/system administrator to provide Front Line Engineering/Tier 2 support for tools and systems on rotating 12 and 8 hour shifts.
Operational System Support - Provide support for TU systems. This includes monitoring and improving monitoring of these systems; responding to and ensuring resolution of operational issues reported by site personnel, 24X7 Monitoring centers, Tier 1 support, dataflow groups, and end users; following and updating provided SOPs; fully document and report issues; and providing feedback to development engineers on how to improve stability and supportability, to include involvement in requirements process. May also assist with installations, upgrades, and patches and ensure system is operating as expected after these actions, performing minor regression testing and validation.
**This position fulfills a task that must be performed 24x7. To meet these requirements, personnel shall be prepared to stay at their position until relieved at the end of their shift. If their replacement does not or cannot reach the office, they will be required to contact their supervisor who will find their replacement; however, they must remain until that replacement arrives.

The successfulcandidate will provide systems engineering and planning support for the ground systems of major defense-related satellite programs managed from the Northern Virginia Area. Responsibilities include the development and maintenance of the Project Integrated Master Schedule which depicts technical scope, progress against established baseline and remaining work. Candidate will assist the government in developing risk and opportunity management plans, to include ground processing technology roadmaps for satellite ground stations.
