ManTech Jr. Database Administrator in Chantilly, Virginia
Monitors database performance during O&Mactivities.
Devises or modifies procedures to solve databaseproblems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time,and form of desired results.
Prepares detailed specifications for programs.
Executes database scripts.
Performs database testing, implementation, anddocumentation of new software and enhancements of existing applications.
Works with project managers, developers, and endusers to ensure database application designs meet business requirements.
Evaluates new and existing software products partof an O&M Database Administration team for a custom GOTS Application Suite.
Performs application builds in Test andProduction environments.
Execute Break/Fixes to resolve issues.
Contributes to Request for Change (RFC)creation, implementation, and verification.
Follows Change and Release Management processesand procedures.
Install, configure, upgrade, migrate and patchOracle 10gR2/11g/12c databases on UNIX and Red Hat Linux.
Work at OS level on Linux, writing scripts andconfiguring storage.
Work in an Oracle 10gR2/11g/12c environmentincluding RAC, ASM, RMAN, PL/SQL, OEM Grid control (10gR2 and 12c), Data Guard,Partitioning, database performance tuning, and configuring options such asOracle Resource Manager.
Install, configure, upgrade, migrate and patchMySQL database on Linux environment.
Implement, maintain and test Disaster Recoverymethodology for all production databases.
Work with application owners and technicalarchitects requirements and support needs.
Implement database security including passwordmanagement, encryption, and DB auditing.
Maintain and publish documentation forMediacom-specific needs.
Attend meetings with application teams andexternal product and services vendors.
• Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance.
• Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD).
• Bachelor s degree or Associates/Vocational/Technical education or equivalent work experience.
