As a Principal Windows Systems Engineer you will perform system engineering functions for the Windows-based platform WAN, Active Directory, VMware, Public Key Infrastructure, Storage Area Networks, Veeam Backup and Replication, VDI, performance monitoring and the supporting infrastructure to comply with applicable standards.

The potential candidate will also have knowledge of Active Directory and related functions such as DNS, DHCP, GPO processing, Exchange, SharePoint, SolarWinds, VSphere 6 to include Site Recovery Manager, Replication, Orchestrator, and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Support connectivity with other domains and the existing systems

  • Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and run diagnostic test on operating system and hardware to detect problems

  • Evaluate and install developed software during various phases of testing

  • Review and prepare documentation for systems and tests capable of installing and required software

  • Initiate preventive maintenance on the operation system as well as be capable of repairing system/environment problems

  • Develop the procedures and be capable of executing existing and developed procedures in order to maintain compliance with mandates and/or vendor-released patches and upgrades

  • Troubleshoot of system performance and make system modifications to accommodate hardware and software upgrades

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; a Master s degree is preferred

  • 7-9 years of operating system experience with 7-9 years of MS Windows experience

  • Possess strong technical written and verbal communication skills essential

  • Networking skills required, with emphasis on security

  • 8570/8140 compliance required certifications (Minimum of Security+CE)

  • Desired certifications include MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, VCP

Security Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance based upon a SSBI completed within the last 5 years and SCI eligibility

Qualifications

Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) and seven to nine years of related experience.
