Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission oriented Senior Systems Administrator, in the Clarksburg, WV area, with strong Customer relationships. The FSS Division provides cyber solutions to a wide range of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. This division consists of a team of technical leaders that deliver advanced technical solutions to government organizations. As a senior systems administrator, you will be part of a team that is tasked with providing IT operations services to our client for a large-scale IT system.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform daily duties of backups, maintenance on applications and OS, patching, tuning, scripting, automating tasks, and troubleshooting
Configure the environment based on requested changes
Follow CM process to effectively manage environment changes
Provide on-call support as required during the year, supporting mission-critical systems (on-call rotation),
You will also provide necessary instruction and documentation for change requests, installing operating systems, loading (installing) COTS products, and configuring operating systems and COTS products
The systems administrator shall possess knowledge of tracking and analyzing performance and resource utilization of the assigned systems, and shall have experience in recommending changes, upgrades, and enhancements based on the technical analysis
Assisting with the O&M of the hardware and software delivered by Avaya during the Telecommunications Infrastructure Upgrade(TIU) project housed at both the CJIS Division Complex and NICS call centers.
Knowledge and experience in RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, and/or Monte Vista would be beneficial.
To help ensure the appropriate skill sets, the following includes a few examples of the functions that shall be commonly performed by the VOIP ASA.
To include, but not limited to:
planning and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware and operating systems and applications software; managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment
managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; implementing security procedures and tools
developing and documenting systems administration standard operating procedures
resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems
ensuring systems availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency
maintaining systems configuration
managing the installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements
ensuring the rigorous application of information security/ information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
Specialize in Microsoft SQL and VoIP services including but not limited to Microsoft Windows Server (2003 – 2012), Voice over Internet Protocol, Active Directory, System Center, WSUS, SharePoint, SQL, and PowerShell.
Bachelor's degree Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred and eight or more years of experience in installing operating systems, loading (installing) COTS products, and configuring operating systems and COTS products
Eight or more years of RedHat Linux or equivalent systems administration experience
Experience performing detailed performance analysis and resource utilization of major IT systems
Possess leadership experience to assure appropriate changes, upgrades, and enhancements are made based on the analysis
Flexible working hours - able to support occasional nights, weekends, and call-ins
Ability to work varying shifts
Able to quickly adapt to a constantly changing environment
Perl and other scripting languages preferred
Oracle database familiarity preferred
Certifications in operating systems and other COTS products are desired but not required
Requires Bachelor s degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
