ManTech Network Engineer, Senior in Colorado Springs, Colorado
ManTech International seeks qualified candidates for a Sr. Network Engineer position to support a large-scale, Federal program critical to our nation s safety. Qualified candidates must possess a current and active Secret security clearance to qualify.
The Sr. Network Engineer:
Installs new releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves network related problems.
Performs system backups and recovery.
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure network integrity.
Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Is experienced in executing sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks and work under general supervision.
Typically reports to a project leader or manager
Analyzes network access trends and resolve bandwidth management issues for mission critical systems.
Implements, troubleshoots, monitors and maintains all aspects LAN/WAN/VPN/ networks for high availability of parallel development, testing and production environments.
Reviews SNMP alerts, use protocol-line analyzers (sniffers) and conducts log forensics in order to determine root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.
Collaborates with Software and Database Developers, Windows and Linux Server Administrators and Security personnel to analyze Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) requirements, troubleshoots anomalies and determines appropriate firewall configuration implementation.
Drafts and submits recommended change request proposals necessary for timely mitigation of POA&Ms and CVE findings.
Maintains system compliance with DHS\FISMA IT Security and Information Assurance objectives concerning privacy of passenger screening information.
B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering (or equivalent experience) and 6 to 8 years of relevant professional experience.
Ability to work on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks Prioritize competing priorities, work under a cross-matrix management structure
Required to be on-call and respond in a timely manner
Must be able to adapt to quickly evolving technology and priority changes and have a desire to work closely with other members of the IT/development team.
Candidate should be a proactive self-starter with exceptional follow up skills.
Must possess excellent written & verbal communication skills.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Routing experience to include static routes, EIGRP and route redistribution.
2Switching experience to include understanding of virtual port-channels (vPC aka MEC), spanning tree, first hop redundancy protocols, and security best practices.
3Experience with firewall concepts and configurations to include creating/modifying access control lists, network/port address translation, and virtual private networks.
4Experience with load balancing concepts and configurations to include layer4/layer7, SSL offloading, and health monitoring.
5Monitoring of all network components via SolarWinds.
