ManTech Operations Research Analyst in Lexington Park, Maryland

ManTech, a well-respected industry leader, is actively seeking talented professionals able to support the resolution of critical, national defense problems. Its Naval Business Unit seeks operational analysts for work in Lexington Park, MD supporting the Naval Air Systems Command.

The incumbent s responsibilities would include:

 -Providing senior-level analysis support for a varying set of client needs.

 -Working with defense customers to translate their problems, assumptions, goals, and constraints into analytically tractable study constructs.

 -Applying qualitative and quantitative problem-solving techniques to sponsor interests.

 -Working with subject matter experts to provide decision-makers with clear, meaningful, and justifiable analyses developed in accordance with formal research norms.

 -Providing extensive technical writing and reporting support.

Required Qualifications:

 -Familiarity with naval aviation, surface, subsurface, expeditionary, logistics, or joint operations.

 -Familiarity with analysis and technical reporting accompanying formal, U.S. Navy or Marine Corps study efforts.

 -Familiarity with Capability Based Assessment, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), or similar processes – such as those of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) – practiced by Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security, (DHS), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), or other government agencies.

 -Familiarity with the application of qualitative or quantitative problem-solving techniques, preferably both. Particular facility with methods of problem definition, performance evaluation, research validation and sensitivity analysis, and the elicitation of expert opinion.

 -Familiarity with design of experiments (DoE) approaches such as response surface methodology, and particular facility with appropriate tools such as JMP® or R.

 -Active SECRET clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience with DoD acquisition activities.

 Experience as a study team leader or principal investigator (PI).

 Experience with architecture-focused studies involving Navy or Marine Corps systems, particularly those using the Systems Modeling Language (SysML).

 Experience employing major naval or joint simulation models such as the Naval Simulation System (NSS), BRAWLER, the Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM), or the Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM).

 U.S. Navy or Marine Corps veteran.

 Active TOP SECRET clearance.

Education:

 Advanced degree in operations research; mathematical or physical science; psychology or economics; engineering; or related discipline. Naval Postgraduate School M.S. Operations Research graduates particularly encouraged to apply, but all academic backgrounds and interests pertinent to the operational research domain considered of equal importance, regardless of degree or granting institution.
