ManTech Senior Linux Developer in Orlando, Florida

ManTech International Corporation is currently seeking a Linux Developer to be part of the Platform Development Team for the Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE) Program. The PCTE program is focused on delivering innovation to advance the cyber domain.

The PCTE mission is ground breaking and revolutionary in nature and involves innovate thinking and making connections across complex innovations, ideas, and thoughts.  You will be contributing to a solution which will define the U.S. cyberwarfare doctrine and the practical underpinnings related to U.S. Military s cyber capabilities.

You will contribute to developing a world class cyber training asset for the U.S. military using a best of breed integrated approach to provide individuals and teams to train as they fight. You will be part of an elite team helping design, build, deliver, and manage an interconnected and multi-domain cyber platform to assess the readiness and capabilities of the DoD Cyber Mission Forces.  This position is not for the faint of heart.  If you thrive in a changing and dynamic environment, then you are an ideal candidate.

The selected individual will contribute to an integrated team tasked with the design, development, integration, installation, test, operations, sustainment, and training on behalf of PEO STRI and the program s end users. We are seeking highly motivated Linux expert with a love of Open Source Software development to help design, develop and support a geographically dispersed, state of the art system.

Position will provide engineering support to multiple WAN connected sites, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and will follow specific IT project management and engineering lifecycle processes. Project assignments will vary and include systems software development, network services deployment, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance. The planform is large scale and involves high performance virtualization technologies within a hybrid environment using multiple hypervisors and tuned infrastructure.

  • Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards

  • Must have taken discrete structures, finite automata, and algorisms courses

  • Develop test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the team

  • Maintain git repositories and advocate for best practices

  • Build and monitor production services on networked systems

  • Develop automation strategies and deployment processes

Qualifications

Requirements

  • US citizenship or permanent residency

  • BS in Computer Science

  • Must have strong mathematic skills

  • Able to work collaboratively, coordinating among cross-functional teams and manage priorities

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and analytical skills; strong and demonstrated interpersonal skills to include influence, negotiation, collaboration and diplomacy

  • Ability to coordinate and work with diverse groups of subject matter experts

  • Must have experience using Linux as primary, desktop, operating system

  • Must be an expert in contemporary Open Source Software

  • Must have the ability to work in cross-functional agile teams

Skills and Experience

  • Must have 15+ years experience

  • Understanding of Linux Device Tree configuration

  • Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments

  • Understanding of Cross Compilation (Utilization of gcc and binutils)

  • Understanding of Bootstrap (uboot, ISO, MBR, UEFI)

  • Linux Kernel - device detection using device tree or bus probe method

  • Experienced with Linux power tools such as sed and awk

  • Strong experience with regex

  • Strong understanding of Linux internal including sys, proc, etc

  • Experience with Linux package management (and mirrors) including deb and rpm

  • Experience with LAMP development

  • Experience with microservices

  • Experience with flask

  • Understanding of advanced Python development

  • Understanding of imperative, functional, and declarative programming

  • Knowledgeable of various development tools and engineering theories and principles

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc.

  • Understanding of chroot jails

  • Experience with continuous development, integration, and deployment

  • Experience with WOA including RESTful API development using OpenAPI standards

  • Deep understanding of SOA

  • Understanding of the Linux kernel including compilation and modules

  • Experience with configuring daemons including ftp, ssh, ssl, http, https

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, nginx, etc

  • Deep understanding of ssh, port forwarding, iptables, setting routes, classless inter-domain routing
